Prepare to sing your heart out to some of the best festive tunes as Newcastle’s much-loved Kroud Karaoke returns to the city this Christmas.
The event, which sees a huge crowd gather for a good old sing-song, will be held at the Central Park Fan Zone in Times Square next month – and it’s expected to be a sell-out.
DJ Chris Schrouder has promised the festive Kroud Karaoke will be the “UK’s biggest sing-along show” when it takes place on Friday, December 16, with around 1, 500 people due to take part.
DJ Chris Schrouder, who created the event with his son, Alex Schrouder, said: “We can’t wait to bring the Christmas sing a long back to Newcastle! In previous years we have done huge shows at STACK Newcastle, but for those who don’t know what it’s about, Kroud Karaoke is a festival-style, feel-good sing-along event.
“It’s not about one person singing, but the entire ‘Kroud’ singing together.”
Anyone planning on coming along is encouraged to wear a Christmas jumper and soak up the festival-style atmosphere inside the fan zone’s huge indoor space. And singers won’t have to worry about being cold as the venue is fully heated and even comes complete with 30 metres of bar space.
Kroud Karaoke has held a number of events at the Time’s Square venue this year following the closure of STACK. It has also taken place at festivals over the summer including Kubix Festival at Herrington Country Park and the ‘Noughty 90’s Festival’ in Brighton.
“We normally do our big Christmas sing-a-long at STACK, however, with it closing our only Newcastle show in December is in Central Park,” Chris said.
“We thought the fan zone would be the perfect place to bring a huge ‘Kroud’ together and put smiles on faces in these tough times.
“This event is set to sell out, so gather your friends, get on your Christmas jumpers, and join the UK’s biggest sing-along show on Friday, December 16.”
